Death, mortality, impermanence
I am afraid of dying · I am reminded of my mortality · Everything is temporary
जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्ध्रुवं जन्म मृतस्य च |
jātasya hi dhruvo mṛtyurdhruvaṃ janma mṛtasya ca .
जन्मने वाले की मृत्यु निश्चित है और मरने वाले का जन्म निश्चित है; इसलिए जो अटल है अपरिहार्य - है उसके विषय में तुमको शोक नहीं करना चाहिये।।
Why this verse: Those who are born are certain to die, and those who die are certain to be born again. Therefore, you should not lament over the unavoidable.
अन्तकाले च मामेव स्मरन्मुक्त्वा कलेवरम् |
antakāle ca māmeva smaranmuktvā kalevaram .
और जो कोई पुरुष अन्तकाल में मुझे ही स्मरण करता हुआ शरीर को त्याग कर जाता है, वह मेरे स्वरूप को प्राप्त होता है, इसमें कुछ भी संशय नहीं।।
Why this verse: Whoever gives up the body remembering Me at the time of death, at once attains My nature. Of this there is no doubt.
