दम्भो दर्पोऽभिमानश्च क्रोधः पारुष्यमेव च |
dambho darpo.abhimānaśca krodhaḥ pāruṣyameva ca .
हे पार्थ ! दम्भ, दर्प, अभिमान, क्रोध, कठोर वाणी (पारुष्य) और अज्ञान यह सब आसुरी सम्पदा है।।
Why this verse: Pride, arrogance, conceit, anger, harshness, and ignorance — these qualities belong to those born of demonic nature. A mirror held to the ego.
मच्चित्तः सर्वदुर्गाणि मत्प्रसादात्तरिष्यसि |
maccittaḥ sarvadurgāṇi matprasādāttariṣyasi .
मच्चित्त होकर तुम मेरी कृपा से समस्त कठिनाइयों (सर्वदुर्गाणि) को पार कर जाओगे; और यदि अहंकारवश (इस उपदेश को) नहीं सुनोगे, तो तुम नष्ट हो जाओगे।।
Why this verse: If you do not act with the consciousness that I am the supreme, not considering Me, you shall be lost. The ego that forgets the divine is the root of downfall.
