Forgiveness, letting go, reconciliation

I need to forgive someone · I want to let go of the past · I need to make peace

तस्मात्प्रणम्य प्रणिधाय कायं

tasmātpraṇamya praṇidhāya kāyaṃ prasādaye tvāmahamīśamīḍyam .

11.44 Therefore, bowing down, prostrating my body, I crave Thy forgiveness, O adorable Lord. As a father forgives his son, a friend his (dear) friend, a lover his beloved, even so shouldst Thou forgive me, O God.

Why this verse: Arjuna's prayer of forgiveness: You are the supreme primal objective. You are the ultimate resting place of this entire universe. You are inexhaustible, and You are the oldest. You are the maintainer of the eternal religion, the Personality of Godhead. You are without beginning.

BG 12.14Bhagavad Gītā

सन्तुष्टः सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चयः |

santuṣṭaḥ satataṃ yogī yatātmā dṛḍhaniścayaḥ .

12.14 Ever content, steady in meditation, self-controlled, possessed of firm conviction, with the mind and intellect dedicated to Me, he, My devtoee, is dear to Me.

Why this verse: One who is equal to friends and enemies, who is equipoised in honor and dishonor, heat and cold, happiness and distress, fame and infamy — he is dear to Me.
