अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्रः करुण एव च |

adveṣṭā sarvabhūtānāṃ maitraḥ karuṇa eva ca .

12.13 He who hates no creature, who is friendly and compassionate to all, who is free from attachment and egoism, balanced in pleasure and pain, and forgiving.

Why this verse: One who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living beings, who does not think himself a proprietor — such a devotee is dear to Me.

BG 18.46Bhagavad Gītā

यतः प्रवृत्तिर्भूतानां येन सर्वमिदं ततम् |

yataḥ pravṛttirbhūtānāṃ yena sarvamidaṃ tatam .

18.46 He from Whom all the beings have evolved and by Whom all this is pervaded worshipping Him with his own duty, man attains perfection.

Why this verse: By performing his own work, one worships the Lord, who is present in all beings. By his own work, he attains perfection.
