अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्रः करुण एव च |
adveṣṭā sarvabhūtānāṃ maitraḥ karuṇa eva ca .
भूतमात्र के प्रति जो द्वेषरहित है तथा सबका मित्र तथा करुणावान् है; जो ममता और अहंकार से रहित, सुख और दु:ख में सम और क्षमावान् है।।
Why this verse: One who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living beings, who does not think himself a proprietor — the saint who possesses these qualities is dear to Me.
तानहं द्विषतः क्रुरान्संसारेषु नराधमान् |
tānahaṃ dviṣataḥ krurānsaṃsāreṣu narādhamān .
ऐसे उन द्वेष करने वाले, क्रूरकर्मी और नराधमों को मैं संसार में बारम्बार (अजस्रम्) आसुरी योनियों में ही गिराता हूँ अर्थात् उत्पन्न करता हूँ।।
Why this verse: Those who are envious and mischievous, who are the lowest among men, are cast by Me into the ocean of material existence, into various demonic species.
